| ![]() The Guild Charterlast revised 31 October 2007 - Drossblighte primary author, Vaitalla & Wolfhound contributing authors
The Mission Statement:The Immortals (of Eitrigg/Alliance) is a casual, relaxed guild focused on the more social aspects of World of Warcraft. Our main goal is to provide a fun, low-stress group for people to play the game with and to provide a haven for those players that are frustrated by the attitudes of more "hard-core" guilds. The Immortals realizes that most people have jobs, have families, and have other interests that are more important than playing World of Warcraft. Our guild is where these people can feel at home and not feel left out because they can't raid 5 nights a week. If you do not think you can hold to these guidelines, please do not accept the terms and go your way in peace. If, after joining you feel that other members are not following these guidelines, please contact the guild leader.
Why The Immortals?Play like you'll Live Forever!Of course, we have a long and detailed backstory - Which can be found Here.
Guild MembershipThe Immortals is open to all players, of all levels / races / classes. We allow younger players as long as they demonstrate maturity. To join the guild, simply message any guild officer or veteran in-game. Alternately, submit an application here and we'll get you set up.
Guild ExpectationsOr: What to Expect from The ImmortalsThe current "core" membership of the guild is located primarily in Texas and the Greater Southwest. Accordingly, our most active time is currently evenings, Central time. As the guild expands this may change, but you will want to keep this in mind. We're more than happy to tag along with a run you'd like to go on (just ask or post in the forum) in order to help you acquire a certain piece of equipment or to complete a quest. As we are often leveling our own characters, you may want to schedule even the low level runs on our event calendar - it isn't just for those high level raids! Other than occasionally buying a nice item for them with our 60's or providing a set of "starter" bags, etc., we do not focus on "twinking" our low-levels. We are generally very willing to help out our lower members with quests for crafitng mats, etc., as we see that the strength of all of our members benefits the guild as a whole. We understand that at some point, you may desire "more" for your character(s) and will wish to make a jump to a guild focused more on raiding and "endgame" instances. We will fully support any decision you make in this area, and members of the guild should not denigrate a player for making this decision. Finally, the guild is extremely "newbie" friendly. New players are encouraged to join the guild, and we'll do everything we can to help you have an enjoyable time in the game. We recognize that we were all new at this once.
The Bill of RightsOr: What The Guild Will Never Do
1. NagThe Immortals will never place requirements on your activity within WOW, other than to actually log in occasionally.2. ControlWe won't tell you that you need to come on X instance or lose rights.3. Manage your CharacterWe won't tell you that you have to play with a certain build (while always being ready to offer solicited advice). We understand that some builds are more powerful for PVP, raids, solo, whatever. We want you to have fun, so use a build and gearset that fits yourplaystyle and personality. We will expand this list as needed.
Membership ExpectationsOr: What we expect from You
1. IntegrityMembers of The Immortals shall behave in a polite manner towards guildmates and other players of WOW. We're a friendly guild, and while joking and all is great, please know when "too much is too much". This expectation, of course, does not apply to PVP-flagged Horde characters (though being cheerful to non-flagged Hordelings is encouraged). Have Fair Dealings with all other players, including those outside the guild.
2. RespectAs younger players are allowed in the guild (under 18) with their parent's permission, we do require PG rated guild chat. /Say and /yell must be PG or PG-13 at worst. We do not wish to be associated with R rated commentary. Individuals may or may not have problems with R-rated chat in whisper or party chat, so be cautious. You will not be banned for occasional mistakes, but repeated failure to watch what you type may be cause for removal.
3. FriendshipPlease try to resolve any personality conflicts with each other in /whispers first, then mention it to a guild officer if it fails to resolve. We'll help you work something out. Letting things flare up into a huge public argument just doesn't work and isn't acceptable. Being a jerk habitually will get you banned. If you cannot sufficiently define "jerk" without visual aids, This is not the guild for you.
4. CourtesyFor scehduled events, show up fifteen minutes early. If you can't attend an event, please let the guild leader know as far in advance as possible. We need time to find a replacement, and time to coordinate meeting up. You volunteered for the event, so please be courteous enough to not delay the group. We appreciate that life, work, school, family, or whatever else happens. Do your best to be punctual.
5. ConsiderationWhen grouping, the standard Need-Before-Greed rule applies. "Need" means *that character* needs it. If you'd like an item for an alt, that counts as "greed". In most cases, asking your partymates for the item will work out just fine, but if you've got non-guildmates around or if someone's in a bad mood, that's the standard that should be met. We want to be sure loots go where they are most helpful, and are developing loot rules for 10 man raids and beyond. Presently, Need-Before-Greed is reccomended for 5 man instances.Standard item distribution in a single instance run is 1 Epic / 1 Blue / 1 "Class Set Piece" (of any color) per person through Need rolls. In other words, a player may receive one of each of those items per run by choosing Need. Once all members of the run have reached the category threshold it resets. This will generally only apply in instance runs where you have multiple members of one class present (or classes that wear/use similar gear, ie Hunters/Rogues). If all members agree, these rules can be waived for any or all items in a run. More information on our loot rules will be posted, but for now it's simplest to remember be friendly, be casual, and while greed is fine, don't be so greedy you hurt someone that might have wanted what you're about to sell or Disenchant.
6. PerserveranceWe are the Immortals because we never stay dead. Likewise, we will try a boss fight or quest or raid a million times if that's what it takes to finally beat it. That's not to say you can't decide that it's late and you're done for the night, but we do want you to keep trying. If you can't stay online any more that session, be willing to come back and keep trying and dieing until we get it right! You (and the immortals by extension) will be a stronger player because of it!
